Once again the Hemsworth girls pulled a good performance out of the bag, with every player trying their best despite the winter coughs and colds having an effect on a few of the girls.Hemsworth were quick off the mark today with Katie putting in a fine cross from the right wing to Amy, who flicked it on for Jodie to confidently strike the ball into the net from the edge of the box.
Hemsworth continued playing some good attacking football with Rothwell responding well.
The second goal came from Chazzie's perfectly placed corner, and at long last a player did get on the end of the ball for an easy goal, well done Kelly for a super header!
At the half time whistle Hemsworth were confidently leading 2-0 but Rothwell managed to up the tempo of the game in the second half and pressured Chaz, Lindz and Becky in defence until they scored a good goal. The Rothwell team were buzzing, and at this point probably confident that they could pull off a draw again, which was the case in the last match between the two teams.
However, today, the determined home team did not sit back and went on to score 2 more goals in the last 5 minutes of the match; the third goal came from a good layoff from Katie to Amy, who met the ball and blasted it into the bottom corner of the net. The final goal saw the goalkeeper run out to meet a lob over the defence from Chelsea for Kelly to run onto, she didn't quite manage to secure the ball as she dived onto it, and Kelly pounced on it and ran it into the net.
