U14's HMW 5 Lepton Highlanders 0

The home team were up for it today and looked in fine form right from the outset, demonstrating the best game of passing football and strategic thinking this season. A short while into the game Chelsea scored the first goal when she ran onto a good pass following some good one touch football between George and Nicky, calmly placing the ball past the keeper into the net.

The play flowed well with excellent ball passing between each of the players leaving Lepton players second to the ball on numerous of occasions. The game was quite physical, as I am sure both sides were hungry for the victory, as it was the debut meeting of the teams this season. Amy produced a lovely second goal, hitting an angled shot, ending another good passing routine.
Several near misses were saved by the confident Lepton keeper who was made to work hard by the home team.

The second half was as good as the first with excellent play delighting the parents and 3 more goals were to follow. Chloe, having her best game ever, having a hand in all 3. Chloe made a brilliant sprint down the right wing to put in a good cross right in front of the keeper who managed to palm it away from Kelly, but the ball bounced off one of the Lepton defenders to give the 3rd goal. The next following from an angled shot in to the corner from outside the box that shot past the keeper and finally from Chazzie's perfectly placed corner met by Tiff's head and played onto Chloe for her to chip it above the keeper.
As the game opened up Becky and Chazzie started moving with the ball through the midfield keeping the pressure on Lepton who barely got out of their own half, leaving Siobahn very little to do throughout the game.

Bad luck to Ebony who narrowly missed scoring after chasing the ball through the middle but got squashed out by 2 defenders. Lindz was like a bulldog at the back letting nothing pass and Nicky, Jodie and George were all over the midfielders like a rash.
Kelly had some good shots too and holding up the ball and setting up the other players on several occasions.

With such a strong team performance it was impossible to single out anyone as player of the match and the award went to the whole squad!!.
