U14's HMW 2 - Kirkburton 1

A win is a win they say... it did not feel like a win today the girls matchplay was shocking, players were out of position constantly, bunching, swiping at the ball and sending it high in windy conditions.

Sids half time lecture made no difference. The girls all seemed to have their own agenda today and playing good passing football was not on it!!

What a massive contrast to the previous match when Sid had trouble naming any particular girl as the player of the match, today he had little to choose from-Charlotte was probably the only player that played very well and did keep the away team from getting near to the goals on numerous occasions.

The goals came from Amy who recieved a cross from Chazzies corner and an own goal which was tipped in by the keeper after a fumbled save from a good shot from Nicki.

On this rare occassion it's hard to give a constructive match report, Sid said what was needed to be said to the team at full time and lets hope the girls take on board his advice if they want to play to their full potential and gain the recognision that they deserve, and of course win a place in the Shield final!!

Just to emphasise that weekly training sessions are expected and are essential to improve fitness, skill and most importantly team play.
