Rothwell dominated the first half with goal after goal with Hemsworth's Amy, Chelsea and Jodie having their attempt on Rothwells goal narrowly miss.
Mid-field and defence worked hard, but the well rehearsed Rothwell team proved to be stronger.
The second half was much more positive with the away team only conceding 2 goals and managing to claw one back: Jodie's magnificent free kick from the left wing hurled past 5 defenders and the keeper to curl into the top right hand corner of the net!
This helped the teams confidence and they started to dominate by pressing forward and winning several corners. Amy delivered the ball accurately in front of the goal mouth, which resulted in a Hemsworth, Rothwell battle to try and win the ball as it was knocked around in the box between a sea of frenzied feet. Hemsworth were unlucky not to score again.
Hemsworth's defence tightened in the second half as they responded to Rothwells tactics, Linzi and Becky took charge and snuffed out the main threats and Chantelle kept her head up and made some excellent saves.
Well done girls, a terrible day weather wise, a poor first half but a really brilliant second half!!
