Having not played for over a month the girls played very well considering. Shannon in her debut game linked well with Mel: Linzi and Chelsea were both on form today out running the opposition each time.
The first half saw exciting end to end play with Chaz, Jodie and Tiff for Hemsworth being unlucky not to have scored.
It was Becky who opened the scoring, brilliantly reading the ball from Chazzie's corner to sneak it past the keeper. Hemsworth kept up the pressure with Jodie and Chelsea narrowly missing the target.
Garforth evened the score with a good goal, for Hemsworth to come back again with Chazzie's perfect curling corner. Georgi had a brilliant game in mid and had a good attempt at the goal having recieved the ball from Chazzie.
Garforth got lucky from a corner to even the score again.
A determined Amy ran the ball from the kick off all the way into the box to narrowly miss, and shortly after Jodie and Mel had their shots go over the top bar.
With lady luck not being on the hometeams side, the 2-2 result meant extra time had to be played.
The first half saw no goals, then the over eager defence were unfortunate to give Garforth 2 deflected goals in the final 8 minutes of the game.
The score does not reflect the huge amount of effort the girls put in, as each player contributed 100% and demonstrated some good football today!
